Isochrones
Use isochrones to understand delivery coverage and catchment areas within a time or distance budget.
What an isochrone tells you
An isochrone is a reachable-area boundary around an origin. A time budget answers “where could this journey reach within this estimated time?” A distance budget describes reachable network distance. Neither is a circle measured in a straight line.
Compare delivery budgets
The example requests fifteen- and thirty-minute motorcycle delivery areas. The contour values and generated snippets come from the API contract.
curl -X POST 'https://api.uat.audisory.com/v1/isochrone' \
-H 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY' \
-H 'Content-Type: application/json' \
-d '{
"origin": [
30.0619,
-1.9441
],
"profile": "moto",
"contours": [
{
"time_minutes": 15
},
{
"time_minutes": 30
}
]
}'Interpret the polygons
The result is GeoJSON. Each contour describes a budget; inspect its properties when assigning labels and colors. Coverage follows the profile and available road network, so hills and disconnected routes can produce irregular boundaries.
Use estimates responsibly
Use reachable areas for planning and comparison. They are not guaranteed delivery-time promises, a customer address validation service, or measurements of live traffic. Compare budgets with the same origin and profile.

| Field | Type | Description | |||||||||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
originrequired | array | A WGS84 position as `[longitude, latitude]`, in that order. | |||||||||
profile | string | The vehicle and behaviour model used for costing. `moto` is the motorcycle-taxi profile and
the one most Rwandan traffic actually uses.
["moto","car","truck","bicycle","pedestrian","pedestrian_loaded"] | |||||||||
contoursrequired | array | Up to four budgets, returned as nested polygons.Nested fields

departure_time | string | Departure time, so time-conditioned restrictions apply. |
